    Zeppelin L49 was forced down near Bourbonne les Bains by French airmen. The German commander was about to set it on fire when he was stopped by a French peasant with a shot-gun. On the Zeppelin were some instruments of precision, the secret of which the Germans hoped to safeguard. L50 was forced to land in France through loss of buoyancy caused by anti-aircraft guns piercing the envelope. Two officers and fourteen men alighted and were subsequently taken prisoners.
