  4. CENTENARY OF METHODISM IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA.

    The Methodist denomination, which is now celebrating its centenary in Western Australia, practically began with the foundation of the State. (1) Joseph Hardy, the founder of Methodism in this State, who reached the Swan River in the barque Tranby on February 3, 1830. (2) Hay-street in 1870, the year of completion of the present Wesley Church.
