The popularity of the Richmond team was exemplified by the splendid reception they received on entering the arena of the Melbourne Cricket Ground last. Saturday, but the spontaneous outburst of enthusiasm that marked their exit, as Premiers of 1920, will long be remembered by those who were privileged to be present. It had taken the “Tigers” thirteen years to fight their way to the top, and in doing so they had the satisfaction of defeating the club that had delayed their progress for one year. It is a coincidence that the same two clubs that played in the Grand Final last season fought their battle over again this season, but with different result. ... [ILLUSTRATED]
