    A FINE DISTRICT EFFORT. The Mount Pleasant soldiers' war memorial was opened on Saturday afternoon by Mr. F. Dewel (chairman of the hall committee), in the presence of a large and representative gathering. The hall, of which the foundation-stone was laid by bis Excellency the Governor (Sir Tom Bridges) on November 20, 1926, is a two-storey structure in Tudor style. The ent[?] or Dedication Hall, is flanked by the library and reading-room. At the back is the hall proper. The hall measures 80 ft. by 40 ft. The stage measures 40 ft. by 18 ft., with the dressing zooms. The nest floor is taken, up by a splendid billiard room and boys' club-room, with a small balcony at the side.
