  6. WHILE STRIKERS STRIKE, MR. REEVES RIGHT TURNS!

    BATONS WERE DRAWN BY POLICE yesterday morning when the timber strike assumed an ugly aspect outside Hudson's yards. Fourteen arrests were made. Inspector O'Brien was hit with a piece of wood, and dazed. Strike pickets carried strifes about five feet high, with white slogans affixed to them. A crowd of about 5000 saw the arrests, and police had a difficult time dispersing them. Bottom right-hand picture shows how Mr. Charles Reeves, Trades Hall official and Communist, made his exit ...
