Her wheels--the land legs, as it were--were removed as soon as she was in deep, water. 2.--Awaiting the skipper and his passengers. On the right is the R.A.A.F. speed launch, which subsequently rescued the party. 3.--Flight Commander Wackett directing operations. 4.--Mrs. Wackett and her son, Wilbur, who were naturally most interested spectators. 5.--The inventor and his staunch supporter, Colonel Brinsmead, Controller of Civil Aviation. 6.--Aircraftsmen after the cold and wet job of launching the Widgeon.
