This latter has made easting to the extent of about 600 miles, and brought with it, as part of the circulation on its advance (or easterly side), a cool southerly change. The "high" has gained about one-tenth inch in central barometric value over the ocean to the south of Esperance (on the western Bight), the centre being now about 400 miles S. of its position of yesterday. The Antarctic disturbance responsible to a great extent for yesterday's heat wave has also worked 600 miles eastward, and now occupies the greater part of the South Tasman Sea, its centre being midway between Hobart end The Bluff (N.Z.). Its western Isobar (29.8) runs parallel with our coast as far as Newcastle, and then bends Inland to the northern tableland. Due to this peculiarity there is a possibility of thunder-showers in the N.E. corner of the State. The monsoonal depression is still over North Australia, but has lost some of its intensity in West Australia. Present indications favor cooler weather generally, with S.W. winds but thundery tendenci[?] parts of coast (chiefly northern). ... [ILLUSTRATED]
