  10. KOOYONGA CLUBHOUSE.

    Extensive additions and alterations are being made to the clubhouse of the Kooyonga Golf Club. The work was begun on January 17 by Messrs. Emmett & Sons, contractors, and it is expected that the improvements will be completed by May 17. It is hoped that the additions will be available for the use of members early in the new season. Mr. E.H. McMichael is the architect. The additions include a smoking-room and lounge, dining-room, 40 ft. x 30 ft., with specially-prepared floor for dancing, secretary's office, board-room, or card room, ladies' club-room, ladies' dressing-room, 30 ft. [?] with bath and lavatories, larger kitchen, servery, scullery, and pantry, and two bedrooms for the accommodation of four members. There will also be a tower for sightseers, which will be reached by a spiral staircase, and from which a view of practically every part of the links will be obtainable. A wide enclosed verandah will surround the building, which will be of brick, with a roughcast front. All the improvements will be on the ground floor, but provision has been made for the addition of an extra storey at a later date. ... [ILLUSTRATED]
