    The above picture was taken at the old National School in Grafton, about 1870. Part of the original schoolhouse is seen on the right. It faced Victoria street, and the photograph was taken from the rear. This building was erected in 1354. It had been blown down in a storm on January 17, 1856, the rebuilt. Mr. James Page was then the headmaster. The building on the extreme left is the Infants' School, which stood back a little bit. In the centre is a classroom, added to the main school to ...
