  5. KINCHINJUNGA, THE HIGHEST PEAK IN THE HIMALAYA MOUNTAINS, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE ROOF OF THE WORLD.

    On the left foreground is Darjeeling, a well known sanitary station in the Lower Himalayas. Kinch injunga is 50 miles from Darjeeling, and a telescope camera was used to secure the picture. (Mr. Raiburn, author of "Mountaineering Art," and Mr. Crarford, members of the Alpine Club of London, have just returned to Darjeeling after an attempt to explore Kinchinjunga (28,156 feet), in the Himalayas, 70 miles east of Mount Everest, and one of the highest peaks in the world.
