Viewed along the by many thousands of spectators the first stage to Warrnambool (165 miles) of the Centenary 1000 Cycle Race aroused tremendous enthusiasm today. In a day full of episodes, A. F. Stubenrauch (Bairnsdale), riding with the 40 minute D group, won the stage by mere inches from S. V. Andrews (Melb.), and J. W. Duffy (Melb.). The winner's time was 6hr. 50min. 35 sec. ...
