Dante Alighieri the sublime Italian poet, was born Florence in 1265, and "died at Ravenna, Italy, on 14th September, 1321. His sixth centaury will thus be celebrated this year. In Italy wonderfully completes arrangements have been made for the forthcoming celebrations in his honour. Dante’s first book, the “Vita Naova” or New Life” is an exquisite medley if lyrical verse and poetic prose telling the story of his love for Beatrice whom he had first seen at the end of his ninth year.
