    An article describing the history and growth of Rose Park, Toorak, and Dulwich apppears on pages 40 and 41. Oui composite gives some idea of the contrasts between old and new, and of the picturesque homes and highways:—1. The old Prescott home, with plank walls. These were cut in the saw pits, on what is now Toorak, from the huge gumtrees which covered the property. 2. Rose Park School, and some of the children. 3. The Preseott cowbarn. The old one was as big as a church, and was pulled down some years ago. 4. Part of the old home of the Ferguson family. The wooden building was originally part of the first Lunatic Asylum. 5. A rose bed on the grounds of the Toorak Bowling Club. 6. The Grove, Rose Park—a picturesque thoroughfare, with the wide sidewalks ... [ILLUSTRATED]
