    Sarchene, the only mare in the race, set the pace in the Cup for about three quarters of the journey. This picture shows the mare, hard held, leading past the stand the first time, followed closely by Sylvandale, the outsider, Clear Art (on the rails), Berestoi, Hall Mark, Hyperion and Sporting Blood.
