  2. OYSTER CULTURE IN NEW SOUTH WALES.

    The following very interesting series of photographs were taken recently by Miss J. W. Stirling, of Mount Lofty, at the Oyster Beds belonging to Mr. Swainton at the George River, New South Wales. The oyster spores are caught on tiles laid out in the river upon which they fasten. In a few months the tiles covered with oysters are taken up. and a diver places them deep down in the river where they grow better and quicker. Only about one in about 20,000,000 spores are caught. ... [ILLUSTRATED]
