    Four hundred and sixty-one dogs were shown at the Lord Mayor's Fund Championship Dog Show, held at the Royal Agricultural Showgrounds on Saturday last. 1. Mr L. Neuendorf's Cashmore Bacchus, the best Pointer dog. 2. Mr S. D'Helin's Pekinese, Geelong Betty. 3, Mr H. Collins' winning Alsatian. 4. Miss Margaret Coles and her winning Sealyham terrier, Jock. 5. A head study of Mr S. G. Veitch's English setter, Austell Duke. 6. Mrs W. Wellington's pair of winning bulldogs, Glenwatha Supertone and Glenwatha. 7.   3. ALFRED HOSPITAL FETE FOR SPECIAL FUND APPEAL

    Despite the rain that fell so steadily throughout the afternoon, the Alfred Hospital Fete on Friday last, held in aid of the special appeal fund, was conducted with enthusiasm. 1. Mr J. Bell makes a purchase from his daughter, Nurse Bell. 2. All smiles in spite of the rain. 3. Matron Evans, with Sister Gough, sells the assistant secretary. Mr R. H. Metcalfe, a raffle ticket. 4.
