    So vast is Australia that one may find almost any class of scenery within its borders. For instance, the tropical luxuriance of northern Queensland may be contrasted with the snowy heights of Mt. Kosciusko in new South Wales, the Buffalo mountains in Victoria, and the hop fields and raspberry gardens of Tasmania. The churned-up snow on the crown of the "Grand Slam," shown above, suggests an Arctic waste, and the sunset is helpful to the general effect of a remarkable picture. ... [ILLUSTRATED]
