ON Thursday, April 8th (writes a correspondent), Sir George Reid (High Commissioner for the Commonwealth), Mr. J. C. Watson (ex-Prime Minister), and Colonel Buckley arrived at Romsey, and in the evening Sir George entertained Colonel Moon and Colonel Tonbridge at dinner. On Friday morning the party drove over and inspected the workshops of the transport column, Sir George later inspecting and addressing the troops, as did also Mr. Watson. The addresses were of an inspiring character, and the troops displayed much patriotic enthusiasm. The men were impatiently awaiting orders to proceed to the front. ... [ILLUSTRATED]
