FRIDAY LAST was celebrated as Belgian Day throughout New South Wales. It is tolerably certain that when all the contributions have been received the total will reach £100,000—a triumph of organisation of which Mr. Hugh Ward (honorary organiser) and those associated with him—and, indeed, the people of all parts of the State—may well feel proud. The street collections in Sydney and suburbs alone exceeded £22,000. The central ceremony of the day was the 1 o'clock function in every town of the State.
