  2. A WONDERFUL DAY FOR SYDNEY

    Blinding rain and a choppy sea prevailed when the Squadron sailed out of Jervis Bay at 5 o'clock on. Tuesday afternoon bound for Sydney. During the night, however, the rain fortunately ceased, and the morning broke beautifully fine. In order that the people of the coastal towns might see something of the great ships, Vice-Admiral Field decided to steam only a few miles from the land, but when off Botany the course of, the fleet was altered to lake it away out to sea, so that the ships might approach the Heads from almost due east. This photograph was taken by the "Mail's" Special Representative on the Hood a few minutes, before the Squadron entered the harbour. ... [ILLUSTRATED]
