Satisfactory progress has been made during the past year with the construction of the Avon Dam, and it is confidently anticipated by the engineers in charge that the reservoir will be available for temporary storage within eight or nine months from now, and that within twelve months, assuming nothing unexpected happens the reservoir will be able to impound at lead three months supply for the metropolitan area, and at the same time permit the construction work to proceed without interruption.
