  2. THE "COURIER" BUDGET OF PICTORIAL NEWS.

    For some time past the Town Planning Association has been interesting itself in the betterment of living and housing conditions in Western Queensland, and has sought the guidance and co-operation of the Institute of Architects in creating public interest in this matter. During last month two competitions for plans of suitable types of dwellings were held, and the adjudicators, Messrs. J. V. D. Coutts, J. C. Cav anagh, C. H. Griffin, and R. M. W ilson, now publish their awards. On the left is shown the prize-winning plan submitted by R. W. Voller, Victory Chambers, Queen-street, in No. 1 competition (are a of building limit 1000 sq. ft., estimated cost £600). In the centre is shown a ground plan of the same. On the right is the prize-winning plan submitted by C. K. Mann, c/o. Atkinson, Conrad, and Powell, Commerce House, Brisbane, in No. 2 competition (area of building limit, 1800 sq. ft., estimated cost £900). ... [ILLUSTRATED]
