To-day, the 1st May, the heats of that great aquatic event, the Great Public Schools' Regatta, are to be rowed on the Parramatta River, and next Saturday the finals will be held to that accompaniment of noise and enthusiasm from which they are inseparable. It is just twenty-five years since the first of the great eight-oar struggles, which are the main features of the regatta, took place; so that this week's races will mark the silver jubilee of the event.
