The Scouts Jamboree held at Frankston as part of the Melbourne Centenary Celebrations was the first world gathering of Scouts held in Australia. Representatives of many countries attended the Jamboree, which Was marked by remarkable spectacles, especially on the opening day and on the occasion of the march-past last week, when 20,000 Scouts and Guides passed by the World Chief Scout (Lord Baden-Powell) and the World Chief Guide (Lady Baden-Powell). A severe storm struck the camp early on Saturday last, and although considerable damage Was done the Scouts showed remarkable resourcefulness during a trying night.
