  2. The Unveiling and Dedication of the Anzac Memorial, Sydney — The Supreme Moment

    The photograph shows H.R.H. the Duke of Gloucester, in the khaki service uniform of the 10th Hussars, standing in the centre of the dais on the Western front of the edifice, declaring the Memorial open on Saturday morning last. He ended his brief, but eloquent, speech with these Words: "To the glory of Cod and in honoured memory of the men and Women of New South Wales who gave their lives, and in gratitude to all who left this Slate to serve the Empire in the Great War, I unveil this Anzac Memorial" As he concluded His Royal Highness pressed an electrical button and the doors of the Memorial swung open. ...
