Yesterday's Education Week programme included school sports, open days, public addresses and exhibitions, also demonstrations at district evening colleges. 1. Pupils at Mayfield East school thoroughly enjoyed competing in an exciting sack race during the sports day at Mayfield Park. 2. Senior girls from the school taking part in an intricate skipping race. 3. Merewether School concentrated on showing parents the methods used to educate their children. Pictured are fourth class pupils taking part in pupils' mass reading. 4. Verse speaking in schools trains children's speech and memory.
