The annual procession of the labour unions in commemoration of the granting many years ago of an eight-hour day in industry passed through the streets of Sydney on Monday. The weather was beautiful, and crowds of people turned out to see the spectacle. Unfortunately, instead of illustrating industry and commerce, as in the old days, it was mainly political. Our pictures show the old eight-hour banner with its motto "United to Protect, Not to Injure" (on the left) and the fires brigades' demonstration on the right. ... [ILLUSTRATED]
