These pictures graphically illustrate the story of a wheat crop from the ploughing of the land to the despatch of the grain to market. They were photographed at Kurrajong Park Wongarbon, the centre of large wheat area on the Western line beyond Dubbo. Both horse and tractor power are used in the main operations, in which it is found that generally the tractor accomplishes more per day than two eight-horse teams. The pictures show:—1 and 2, ploughing; 3, sowing the seed; 4. hay-cutting; 5. carting the hay; 6. building hay stacks; 7, stripping the grain; 8, filling the bags; 9, on the way to the railway; 10, loading trucks for despatch to Sydney. ...
