One of the worst floods experienced in the Hawkesbury district for many years was that of last week. Roads and bridges everywhere were submerged, with the result that communication between various centres was suspended. Many farmers sustained heavy losses through the destruction of their crops and the sweeping away of fences. This photograph depicts a scene in the vicinity of the North Richmond Bridge, which, with the railway bridge now being constructed to connect with the Kurrajong, was entirely covered.
