    Referring to the Battle of the Ancre (some details of which are given on Page 16), the "Daily Mail" correspondent in Picardy says that our losses were small in comparison with ihe magnitude of the victory—though the sacrifice is always great when brave men fight. The British charged quicker than usual, despite the mud, though the fog gave the attackers certam advantages. There Were also difficulties for the artillery. The results of the firing were invisible.
