    Our artist here depicts a scene which, according to the cabled accounts of the British offensive, has been repeated time and again during the past two or three weeks. The Germans have been in [?] of the village for many months, and in the buildings numerous machine-guns have been skilfully stationed, while wonderful dug-outs and tunnels have been constructed. But the superb British artillery has shattered the whole town into fragments, the Huns have been forced to retire, and now we see our heroic infantry, with a battery of light guns in close attendance, rushing through the ruins in eager pursuit of the enemy.
