The Yass district, which will celebrate its centenary next Week, claims the distinction of close association with the famous Hamilton Hume. He it was who discovered its site; there he elected to spend the last days of his life; and his resting-place is in the beautifully-situated cemetery overlooking the banks of the Yass River.
