ANNUAL OUTING OF THE ANCIENT MARINERS. The members of the Ancient Mariners' League held their annual reunion on Saturday afternoon, a cruise of the harbour being made in the Sydney Ferry Company's Kabu. Captain Green was chairman, and Captain A. W. Webber, the indefatigable secretary, as usual, was largely responsible for the complete success of the arrangements, Dr. Scot Skirving, who was the chief speaker, urged that the Government should provide a sailing vessel rather than a steamship for the training of the men of Australia's future merchant service.
