One of the most enthusiastic demonstrations ever seen in Sydney in connection with the war took place on Sunday morning, when vast crowds of men, women, and children assembled to welcome home a large number of soldiers who left for the from in 1914, and who a few weeks before the sudden ending of hostilities had been granted furlough to visit Australia. The veterans, looking in splendid condition, arrived by special train, and, headed by military bands, about 40 motor-cars, each containing two, four, or six Anzacs, drove in procession through the city to the Anzac Buffet. Flags were proudly flying everywhere, and continuous cheering greeted the soldiers, who were showered with [?]wers and con[?] and presented with quantities of cigarettes and fruit.
