    These timber-betters are out selecting and marking suitable trees for felling. Vast quantities ol valuable timber have been destroyed to allow of settlement on the Dorrigo, but The remaining forest area in that district is still extensive, and there are signs that the powers-that-be are profiting by past experience. An interesting statement was made recently by the Prince of Wales at the annual meeting of the Empire Forestry Association in London. He spoke of his visit to the forests of Australia and Canada, and emphasised the urgent need lor afforestation, saying that experts considered that the world would be faced with a timber shortage. ...
