Two ocean races were sailed on Saturday by the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron in rain and squalls. The Thelma Plate, competed for by six yachts of the restricted class, was won by Inez, E.O.J. being second, and Boomerang third. Our pictures illustrate the race for the Gascoigne Cup, the oldest New South Wales yachting trophy. Scotia and Magic failed to start, leaving only Rawhiti (Mr. F. Albert), Aoma (Mr. J. S. Palmer), Oenone (Mr. J. M. Brunton), and Bona (Messrs. Bradley and Towse) to fight out the issue. This event was marred by the accident to Bona in which her shipper, Mr. Lew Patrick, was injured through heine struck by ... [ILLUSTRATED]
