    The Empire Day celebrations in Sydney were of an enthusiastic character. The principal demonstration (here pictured) was in Martin-place, where 10,000 assembled, and, to the accompaniment of cheering, carried the following resolution, which was moved by the Acting-Premier and Minister for Works (Mr. Buttenshaw), seconded by the Chief City Commissioner (Mr. E. P. Fleming), and supported by Mr. J. H. King (President of the Royal Society of St. George) and the Rev. Dr. Micklem (Vice-president of the Victoria League of N.S.W.):—"We, the members of the British Empire and citizens of New South Wales, realising and ... [ILLUSTRATED]
