We recently published at plan showing the effect of linking up Broken Hill with the N.S.W. railway system. This great work, which is of national importance, is now complete. It has a bearing on the transcontinental railway, and, from a Stale point of view, what has happened is that the railway trip from Sydney to Broken Hill, which formerly was via Albury and Melbourne, and covered 1406 miles, has been reduced to 699 miles.
