Mr. James Tanner, handicapper for Rosehill R.C., had good reason to be proud of his work on Saturday, four of the five races on the flat providing thrilling finishes the like of which are seldom seen. The Flying Handicap was Won by half a neck; the Nursery by half a head, with the same margin between second and third; the Maiden Handicap ended in a dead-heat; and the Carl'mgford Mile was won by a long head, with a dead-heat for second.
