Article : 1,707 wordsThe festival of Corpus Christi was celebrated on Sunday in the grounds of St. Patrick's College, Manly, with such pomp and circumstance as to inspire the worshippers with reverence and devotion and the spectators with wonderment and admiration. Fully 5000 men, women, boys, and girls took part in the procession in the college grounds, and 10,000 spectators viewed the demonstration. At 2.45 p.m. priests and students carrying the sacrament took up their positions at the altar, and by that time most of the spectators had bees formed up on three sides of a hollow square looking inwards towards the college. The procession entered the gates headed by the Children of Mary in blue robes with white flowing veils, and as they advanced Cardinal Moran was seen to approach the altar clad in the sumptuous robes of his office and attended by [?] ...
