In the early days of photography a "bird's-eye" view was considered the height of camera art. Above are reproduced three photographs which might aptly be termed "worm's-eye" views of three well-known Brisbane buildings. On the left is shown Ascot Chambers, as seen from ground level in Edward-street. In the centre is the Treasury Gardens front of the Treasury Buildings, and on the right the Queen-street facade of the new Bank of New South Wales. During the recent floods in Western Queensland Qantas 'planes journeyed 7000 miles on relief work, transporting flood-bound passengers, hospital cases, and supplies.
