  2. Empire Day In Schools Newcastle Celebrations To-day

    EMPIRE DAY WAS CELEBRATED throughout the Newcastle District Schools to-day. The Mayor of Newcastle, Alderman Kilgour, and other civic leaders, as Well as Church leaders and others, addressed the children. Patriotic songs were sung, and poems recited by the children. The schools were decorated with flags and the national flag was saluted in the school playgrounds at the conclusion of the celebrations.
