  2. REDBANK STATE SCHOOL.

    The prosent building (which originally was a Roman Catholic School) was erected in 1882. The head teacher at that time was the late Mr. W. J. Lynch. The school was closed in 1890 through the small attendance, but was reopened by Mrs. Blunt in 1892. She was succeeded by Mr. Miller, who remained in charge for seven years. In January, 1905, the present head teacher (Mr. J. P. Carter) took charge. He is assisted by Miss M. Nimmo (assistant) and Miss M. Elder (pupil teacher). The average attendance now is 70.
