THE MAGINOT LINE, FRANCE'S BULWARK AGAINST THE INVADER. When Germany wasted Northern France during the last war Frenchmen made up their minds that never again would a war be fought on French son. This modern system of underground fortifications illustrated in this picture was the answer to any invader. This drawing is self-explanatory and was made with the approval and help of the French War Office. Obviously secretary of the french War Office are not contained in the drawing, but otherwise the illustration is accurate. The immensity of the fortifications will be grasped when it is realised that this illustration shows only a small section of the line, which extends hurndeds of miles along the Franco-German frontier. ...
