Lieut.-Colonel Scobie, of West Maitland, N.S.W., who has died of wounds, was the son of the late Mr. Scobie. member for Maitland in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly. He rose from the ranks, went right through the Boer campaign, and returned as captain. He was wounded in the nose in the first attack at the Dardanelles, and, after recuperating in Egypt for several weeks, returned to the front as lieut.-colonel. He was about 39 ... [ILLUSTRATED]
