During the recent strike in the coal trade in England, some of the firms engaged endeavored to supply coal without the aid of their employees. In this illustration Mr. Walter Cornwall, brother of Sir Edwin Cornwall, and one of the chief partners in a leading firm of coal merchants, is seen carrying a sack of coal to a cart to supply waiting customers. Mr. Cornwall shoulders a hundredweight sack. Thus the example of the ex-Lord Mayor of Sydney, who took to manual labor during the gas strike, has been imitated. ... [ILLUSTRATED]
