A 45-year-old construction worker died instantly when he was crushed by earth-moving equipment on the Monaro Highway yesterday. The accident occurred at 3pm when the man, whose name has not been disclosed by police, was standing behind the elevating scraper working on the highway duplication project, 10km south of the Johnson Drive-Monaro Highway junction.
