The many people whose civic pride has been injured by these buildings in Hyde Park will be relieved to learn that they are merely temporary expedients. Notwithstanding this fact, the view is expressed that something more ornate is justified at such important points in the city. The buildings are small, and for the most part are constructed of second-hand corrugated iron, Umpiretentious signboards, which swing responsively with the wind under the gutterings, provide the last rural touch that makes each building take a ludicrous aspect. ...
