  5. RENAULT TRUCK WHICH CROSSED THE SAHARA DESERT.

    The photograph shows the Renault four-ton six-wheel truck which crossed the Sahara from Algiers to Timbuctoo. It is equipped to carry eight passengers, a driver and a mechanic, and is able to go 500 to 800 miles at one stretch without refilling. A machine-gun is mounted on the top of the truck.
