These pictures, exclusive to the "Herald," were brought back from previously unexplored parts of New Guinea, by the young Australian explorer, Mr. Jack Hides. This expedition, undertaken last August, ended tragically with the death of Mr. Hides's companion, David Lyall, whom Mr. Hides brought to the coast after a nightmare journey.
